What We Value

Since our beginnings in 1649, Quakers have oriented their lives around several core priorities, or testimonies—simplicity, peace, integrity, community, and equality.

SimplicityWe strive to live modestly, using our resources to enhance the lives of those less fortunate.  We endeavor to not be distracted by material goods, seeking to put them in their proper place so that our lives are marked by balance and generosity.

Peace We believe Christ calls us to a life of peace, seeing that of God in all people, always seeking their well-being.

IntegrityWe strive to be honest in all aspects of our lives, endeavoring to integrate our daily activities with our Quaker values.

CommunityWe believe we are part of a larger whole and do our best to be in loving relationship with our local community and wider world.

EqualityWe believe all people everywhere are made in the image of God, and strive to treat all persons with dignity, love, and acceptance.
